Thanksgiving Pie

My assignment for Thanksgiving dinner is pie. We started this tradition years ago and it is my favorite part of Thanksgiving. We always do the pumpkins, cheesecakes and other chilled pies on Wednesday and the other warm baked pies such as apple on Thanksgiving morning. This year Justin and Meagan were my major helpers. We made a creamy cheesecake with raspberry topping, a baked pumpkin cheesecake, 2 pumpkins, a pecan pie and 3 apples.

Meagan crushing graham crackers....
Cutting in the butter for pie crusts. We have found Julia Childs' recipe to be the best. We made 8 crusts....
Justin making his favorite cheesecake....
Pecan Pie, which surprised me by being one of the favorites....
Tried my hand at a lattice top for the apple this year....
The spread....

Victoria's butter that just cracked me up.  No one wanted to carve him so he stayed this way...

The effects of too much turkey and excitement....
My beautiful girls all being nice to each other at the same time!

Random, hehe, Andrea.....
A favorite hiding spot.  Behind grandma's quilt rack....
We had a great Thanksgiving.  We ate at mom and dad's and Andrea, Ben, Zane, Quinn, Mike, Victoria, Stan and Batman were all there.  We missed Justin, who had to work all day.  But we fed him well when he got home and made special pies for him to take to work.  It was nice to hang out with the family and eat ourselves silly.  Happy Thanksgiving.
