Corned Beef?


Justin would like corned beef for St. Patrick's Day. Now, we have been married for almost 15 years and I have NEVER made corned beef. I wasn't really sure, other than the beef part, what made corned beef corned beef. So I looked it up on Wikipedia. I believe the word "brine" is what is turning me off to this one. I know his mom cooked it for his family. Maybe I can bribe her into fixing his lunch on St. Patrick's Day! What do you say? huh? Please?

Isn't brine just salt of sorts?

It's totally just salt. Really no different than lunch meat. They cure it just like lunch meat, except that it's not cooked. I think anyway... I can't remember if you hated it or not. I have this memory of you possibly liking it even though you had never tasted it?? Am I even close?
