Carving Pumpkins...and fingers!
We carved out pumpkins tonight. I figured we had better since Justin starts a new shift tomorrow and nothing can get done while he is working and next week looks to be a bit crazy. The kids designed their own and had a lot of fun gutting and carving them. Justin helped Meagan with the knife. Andrew got out his Dremmel tool and he and Amanda used it a bit. I should say Andrew used it a lot. We had pumpkin dust everywhere. I didn't get a picture of Amanda because she had to zoom off to a Halloween party. Justin and I thought it would be funny to do political pumpkin patterns we found on the net. He did McCain and I did Palin. Mine was tons harder though. She even has eyelashes. I pulled out some stamp carving tools that worked great on the parts that just needed to be skinned. After slicing three fingers open I finally finished mine last. I shouldn't be allowed around sharp knives. I have to admit they turned out pretty good. I'm sure they will be the first ones on the block to be smashed. Hopefully, the little turds doing the smashing will let the kid's pumpkins survive until Halloween.

Way cute! Love Palin.
Good Job!!! I must say I thought to myself before you had said that you'd done the presidental canidates "that looks like Sarah Palin!!"
Those are great! I love it! I'm quite impressed by your skills. I haven't carved pumpkins in at least 20 years.
I totally understand - we did our pumpkins the same night for the same reasons. Your pumpkins turned out awesome! Ours didn't come out as good as I had hoped- oh well. About Twilight, we will probably go on Fri. night if you guys want to go with Michelle and her girls and the rest of the fam. Let me know- we would love to have you.
