More Great Books

I just finished another series of Great Books. It was the "Mark of the Lion" series by Francine Rivers. These books are set in Rome and its surrounding areas just years after the Life of Christ. They follow the lives of different people and their struggles in living and accepting the Gospel. The main characters are a slave girl, Haddassah, the family that owns her, a Gladiator named Atretes and a young Christian widow. I would give this series a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. I zoomed through them in a week. The first two books were my favorite, but the third wrapped things up nicely with the characters I worried were going to disappear when reading the second book. They are Christian but not LDS, so some of the beliefs vary from what we believe. However, I highly recommend them if you are looking for an inspirational read.

LOVED THEM! I admit I was hesitant to read books catagorized as "Christian Inspirational", but I was hooked. Great stories, great author! I back up this reccommendation.
