What a surprise. Butterfield canyon used to be a trash dump for partying teenagers. While it still carries signs of that, it has been reclaimed for the most part, by Kennecott. I was surprised at the beauty of the leaves in the canyon. The kids had a great time collecting the prettiest ones and exploring a few trails. You can't explore much because most of the canyon is private property. There were a lot of people up there taking pictures. We actually submitted a few to the local TV station and they posted them on their web site.
